Maybe One Skeleton…

Good morning! Ah Saturday, how I love thee! The pace of the world slows down and many folks are preparing for a no-work weekend. *contented sigh*
.
I have a few things I’ve been neglecting to do around here, so today feels like a great day to do them. Kinda clearing my “To Do” list of Gratitude.
.
Earlier this week I received an amazing message from Purple Dreamer from My Purple Dreams bestowing upon me The Versitile Blogger Award. (This is the part where it gets embarrassing) Late last year (see, I’m HORRIBLE!!!) I was also given a Wonderful Team Member Readership Award, Blog of the Year Award and The Liebster Award by Kate at Nested.
.
So today is me doing my half lazy catch-up and “Passing of the Badge” ceremony. *grin*
.
I’m posting the rules HERE so this thing doesn’t end up 10 pages long. Besides, if you’re not actually looking at the rules, you won’t notice how much I’m not following them. *guilty giggle*
.
It would seem that all of these require me to share various and sundry facts about myself that have not been previously smeared across the interwebs. To be quite honest, I’m not sure there’s anything about myself I haven’t already shared on here. No deep, dark secrets or skeletons in my closet that I could even parade around for shock value.
.
I’m SERIOUSLY stymied on this one!
.
OK, wait. There may be one skeleton…I have four offspring. (No, that’s not it! Just wait for it…) But I am NOT good at being pregnant. I don’t glow, I grow. I don’t beam, I scream. With each bun in my oven, I became a pink, Blimp shaped She-Hulk of hormones and the World rejoiced the day the tubes were tied, making it safe for OBGYN’s across Indiana to go back to practicing medicine.
.
In my YOUNGER days, I was actually drunk enough once that I spent at least five minutes in a public restroom trying to remember how to dress myself after taking a leak. Underwear, tights, leotard, skirt, and baggy sweater…trying to remember which layers needed to be pulled back up in which order eluded me.
.
Since this was a time before cell phones, I couldn’t call or text anyone for tips. So, I spent the five minutes attempting to re-dress in various combinations until I got it right.
.
This would be the same night I ended up spread-eagle across the hood of my friend’s car singing “Turn Back, O Man” from Godspell. At 3:00 AM. At the top of my lungs. (And Kerra? Thank you for NOT killing me!)
.
There ya have it. Something I don’t think I’ve shared before…and probably shouldn’t have now, but I was starting to panic about the whole thing so I kinda threw a Hail Mary Pass to distract y’all. And it worked, right? *grin*
.
OK, now for those wonderful writers I get to yell, “Tag! You’re it!” at…
.

  1) To the lovely Ms. Julie at In Fine Company I offer the Liebster Award. Her posts are warm and comfortable, like having coffee with a good friend. They’re also well written, funny, and worth waiting for!

2)To Bev at Black Ink Paperie, Meleah at Momma Mia, Mea Culpa, and Terri at Workin’ With What I’ve Got I give the Blogger of the Year Award. These three ladies have moved me with their writing in so many way! All of them write with a rawness that makes you feel like you’re a part of their family. They share their lives with humorous, intelligent, and honest writing that is worthy of publication. (Hint! Hint!)
.
These three blogs have provided me with prose that sets the bar for quality and content. This is the writing my stuff wants to be when it grows up. *grin*
.
(Terri has recently decided to take a hiatus from blogging, which I understand but it STILL breaks me heart. *sigh* But ya know what? I’m giving her the award anyway, so there!)

  3) To Lynne at Lynne Favreau: I Write and Lisa at The Mixed Up Brains of Lisa Weinstein and Kate at Nested I give the Versitile Blogger Award. These women are so very talented in their writings! They can make you laugh, sigh, think, then laugh some more. But the trick is, they all make you feel, not just read.
.
And lastly…

  4) To Cindy at Everyday Underwear I offer the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award. Why? Because not only is she a seriously talented writer with more layers to her work than an Artichoke, but she also has this nasty habit of finding up and coming bloggers and giving them all kinds of support!
.
Got a question about ANYTHING pertaining to writing, social networking, or freelancing? If she doesn’t know the answer, she’ll find someone who does. She’ll promote the snot outta ya and burry you in confidence to help you grow as a writer and a person, not just as a blog.
.
To all you ladies who passed these on to me and inspire me daily with your writing, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
