On the bright side, I’m easily amused…

Good morning! Or, at least, I’m pretty sure it’s a good one. The truth is, I’m not even positive it really is morning right now. (And no, I haven’t been drinking!)
.
I mentioned in passing yesterday that I’m kinda adjusting to new meds. Baby Face, my awesome-sauce Rheumy, changed my pain meds, adding in a slow-release component with the Vicodin now playing the role of break-through pain remedy.
.
  SWEET!
.
The only problem is, while my bod is adjusting, it’s leaving me so foggy headed I almost forgot The Oldest’s Birthday was today!
.
Also, I’ve tried to burn our house down twice in the last week. (OK, not so much “tried” as “could have.”)
.
How did I almost burn down the house, you ask? I put our stove-top percolator on to reheat my beloved coffee…and forgot I’d done it. The last time wasn’t too bad, but the first time I only caught my “oopsie” after the house had filled with smoke and the stench of seriously scorched coffee grounds.
.
Running a close second to my son’s Birthday almost slipping my mind? I can’t think straight enough to write. (Yes, I do consider not being able to write worse that a potential house fire. And no, I don’t see a problem with my priorities. *grin*)
.
As far as side-effects go, the vertigo I can handle. After all, every room of the house has walls I can hug for stability. I can even handle the forgetfulness since I’ve got other Offspring to remind me and smoke detectors for back-up. But taking the creative part of my brain, dipping it in molasses, and then wrapping it in noise-cancelling cotton? I don’t think so, Scooter!
.
If this neural pathway numbing doesn’t clear up FAST, I may be forced to reconsider how important pain management really is to me. Either that, or wait until lunch to take the meds…
.
Until then, I’ll just sit here staring blankly out the window while comfortably drooling on my shirt. (But only a little drool. I can totally pass it off as something the kittens did.) On the bright side, I’m really easy to amuse today!
